Modified Manual Alarm Clock

Right now(as of may 2nd 2024) their is a software bug with Iphones in which often the alarm app is silent while on silent mode (unlike it was before) and will go off when you pick up your phone. This is highly inconvenient and has led it so that I have not been woken up early enough many a time. This flaw with electronics and software being changed without me wanting it led me to create a clock to get around that problem. An alarm based on an already existing clock

Step 2: Make New Holes

Mark out equally spaced points in a circular pattern these holes will be the options for different alarm times so the more holes the more time and vice verse. Then drill out holes or remove in area of the points in whatever manner is most fitting for the situation. (their is both a real clock and a model clock)

Step 3: Remove Any Unneeded Material on Clock

some parts on most clocks would block the bell form being in the correct place. So it would be best to remove them if that applies to the clock that you are modifying.

Step 4: Attach Bell to Clock

Put a string though the bell (which in this case isn't real as I didn't have a bell) and on the top of the clock attach the two sides on the string to opposite ends, with tape in this case bit other more permanent solutions are would work better. Make sure the bell has a lot of room under the clock.

Step 5: Make Pin

Have a loose pin for the hole that will fall out when hit by the clocks hour hand. (make sure that the pin isn't too far out so the minute hand wont hide it and that it is secure enough so the bell can have its full weight on it without falling.)In this case the pin is a shortened needle.

Step 6: Attach Pin to Bell and Clock

put a second sting through the bell and put the other end of the string onto the pin (make it so that this string is shorter than the first so that the bell would be higher up if attached only to the pin, no matter which hole, when compared to being attached only to the clock)

Step 7: Set Alarm Time and Enjoy a Manual Non-computerized Alarm

Put the pin in chosen hole and when the time passes the pin should come undone and ring the bell.
