Supplies
- Recycled backpack (you could use anything that has an existing pocket, but backpacks work well because they also have webbing and can have snap buttons)
- Pink thread (to match the colour of the backpack I used)
- Lighter or candle/matches
- 25mm Webbing from backpack
- three snap buttons from backpack (can also use velcro)
Tools
- Pins
- Ruler
- Pens/pencils
- Fabric and paper scissors
- Needle and thread
Step 1: Making Bag
I used an old pink backpack and cut the pocket off to use as a bag
Step 2: Straps to Connect the Pocket to Molle System
- Collect materials: Webbing (from backpack), needle and thread (used Pink), snap buttons (from backpack) and Lighter
- Cut 31cm pieces of webbing for the amount of straps you want (I used three straps, straps are placed 2.5cm apart)
- Added snap buttons to opposites sides of the webbing and sew them
- Got lighter ready to burn the edges of the webbing
- Burn both of the edges of the webbing
- Pin the straps 2.5cm apart
- Sew the back rectangle to the bag
- (Optional) Connect straps to the Pouch Molle System Sides
Step 3: Enjoy
Hope you enjoy using your sustainable Molle bag, Let me know how you go!
