Introduction: Montague Paratrooper 2016 Fender Mod

Montague Paratrooper 2016 and several other lines come with foldable front fender and a very unique rear rack / work stand / rear fender attachment. Unfortunately, in order to meet the foldable design criteria, the fenders do not have enough coverage for commuting and touring. The front fender does not extend to the back enough to prevent the road spray from hitting the rider's feet and water bottle. It also does not extend to the front enough to cover the handlebar bag or handlebar accessories. In addition, the rear fender does not extend to the front enough to cover the front derailleur.

Step 1: Front Fender Extension to the Back

I followed mostly Alex Wetmore's instructions on making a mudflap: http://phred.org/~alex/bikes/fendermudflap.html

But I did not extend it as much as he suggested because the Montague front fender is not as long as a full fender, and I fear that excessive mudflap length might cause it to get tanged in the front wheel.

Step 2: Front Fender Extension to the Front

I used this template on Instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/1-MTB-mud-guard/, but I trimmed the ear a bit and added a few holes. Here's my template.

Step 3: Rear Fender Extension to the Front
