Introduction: Mouth Watering Roasted Chicken With Vegetables

About: I make stuff and learn new skills

This is a delicious all in one meal that is very simple to make, it is fast to prepare, slow to cook. When complete you will have a juicy tender chicken with great tasting veggies. The only skill you will need to know, is how to chop up vegetables.

Step 1: What You Will Need

Here is all the ingredients and supplies you will need:
1 Large baking dish
1 Knife
Baster (if you do not have one you can use a spoon)
1 Stick of Butter
1 Whole Chicken
1 White or Yellow onion (your choice)
Baby Carrots
Red Potatoes
McCormick Montreal Chicken Seasoning
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder

Step 2: Rinse Chicken

Rinse your chicken thoroughly in cold water. Remove any giblets from the inside cavity. Giblets are the organs of the chicken such as the liver and heart if you did not know that already. Most whole chickens that you buy will have them inside. Personally I do not care for them so I just toss them.

Step 3: Cut Vegetables

First cut your potatoes into quarters. (If you have a larger potato you may want to cut them down more.)
Next cut the celery. I like about an inch in size. (you can cut them to the size you like)
Finally cut your onion into quarters. Then peel apart the layers.
You will not need to cut your baby carrots

Step 4: Add Your Vegetables to Your Dish

I add my vegetables in a certain order, because they tend to cook at different rates.
First add your potatoes around your chicken.
Then add your celery
Next add your baby carrots
Finally add your onion

Step 5: Mix Seasoning

First take your stick of butter and quarter it (makes it melt faster). Then add it to a bowl.
Next add seasoning.
I put a lot of McCormick Montreal chicken seasoning, about quarter of the container. (I found that you can add a lot without overdoing it)
Add about 1 tsp of garlic powder and onion powder (you know your taste best, so add what you feel)
Add salt and pepper to your taste
Now microwave butter and seasoning until melted.

Step 6: Add Seasoning to Chicken

Pour the melted butter and seasoning mixture over the top of your chicken and vegetables, making sure to coat the entire chicken.

Step 7: Add Water

Take your seasoning bowl and add about 1\4 cup of water. Then pour it into your vegetables.

Step 8: Add a Splash More Season

Take your seasonings and lightly sprinkle your vegetables and chicken

Step 9: Time to Cook

Place your chicken in the oven at 350°F. You will cook at 350°F for 1 1\2 hours to 2 hrs. Then cook at 375°F to 400°F for the last 1 hour (The temperature increase will help brown your chicken giving it a crispier skin.)

Step 10: Baste Chicken

To get the juiciest most delicious chicken possible you MUST BASTE IT. I baste ever 30-45 minutes, adding seasoning here and there. (I add seasoning because after basting the season comes off the chicken and onto the vegetables adding more flavor)

Step 11: All Done

Enjoy your delicious chicken! You earned every bite! If you feel like getting more ambitious you can use the drippings to make a tasty gravy.
