Introduction: Multi-Layer Wooden Cat Art | Destkop Decor, Laser Cut

About: This is Alex from NEJE. Love to make some crafts with it and share the crafts I made.

This project builds depth and dimension by stacking multiple wooden layers, reveal a cat scene when assembled. The result is a 3D wall hanging or desk decor that's perfect for cat lovers. The process involves designing, cutting, painting and assembling the layers.

Supplies

MATERIALS:

  1. 3mm thickness plywood*2 (45*45cm)
  2. Wood Glue
  3. Paint

EQUIPMENT:

  1. 20W NEJE Laser Cutter
  2. Software: Lightburn

Step 1: Upload the File

This project is a Multi-Layered project so it has 8 layers in total. If you plan to hang it on the wall, it is not recommended to use plywood thicker than 3mm. Apart from that, you can adjust the size of the frame as you like.

Step 2: Laser Cutting

To begin, prepare your design file and adjust it to fit your cutting area. Then, proceed with cutting the wood. As this project involves 5 layers, you can streamline the process by dividing it into two cutting sessions: one for 2-3 layers and another for the remaining layers.

Setting: 450mm/min, 90%power, Air assist on

Step 3: Painting & Assembling

After cutting the wooden layers, proceed to paint them for added vibrancy. Use acrylic markers or a paintbrush for precision. Once painting is complete, assemble the layers in the order of the design, starting from the back and moving to the front.

Congratulations—you’ve now completed your stunning multi-layered wooden cat art piece!
