My Custom Fishbone Gear Ties

So the other day I was making some wooden piranha gear ties and I though it would be cool to come up with my own gear ties, and my uncle has a friend, who has a machine that copes a outline then cuts it out in steel, how cool is that so I drew some rough sketches, changed it a little and came out with a really nice look, so enjoy.

Step 1: Brain Storming

I drew first a real fish, then a rough sketch, and kept changing and making the image better It took about 30 minutes to get it just right. The pictures above are the finished product. The one on top is a mako shark and the bottom one is a bass.

Step 2: Tracing

Then I shaded the back of the pictures and traced them on to a piece of quarter inch plywood this left a faint outline that I traced to make it darker.

Step 3: Finishing

For about a hour I used a coping saw,a hack saw, and a dremel tool (not counting the multiple attachments) until I got the finished products. I was so excited. Tell me what you think. With a little ingenuity, a note pad, and various tools you can make your own custom gear ties as well.
