My Everyday Cat Eye Makeup

This is my easy - but a little lengthy - everyday makeup routine. I change this look up slightly depending on time or the mood of the day, but I really would like to share this with you. Bear in mind, however, I'm no makeup guru. With that said, we're off.

Step 1: Foundation

After thoroughly washing and moisturizing your face, apply your foundation. You will not need much foundation at all (see picture above), as liquid foundation is quite heavy and suffocating. It will also settle in any lines and wrinkles and highlight dry areas of skin. Having extremely dry skin myself, I find that dampening my stippling brush slightly with tap water helps to blend the foundation and hide any dry skin patches.

Step 2: Cover-up

Apply cover up as shown under your eyes and on any blemishes or red patches the foundation alone didn't cover.

Step 3: Highlight

Using a white cover stick or cream cover-up, apply a few dots along your cheek bones, nose bridge, cupid's bow, chin, and forehead. Blend them in thoroughly.

Step 4: Prime Your Eyes

Apply a cream matte cover-up to your eyelid. We'll be using some very sheer eyeshadow colors, so the cover-up helps prevent creasing and adds a bit of natural pigment to hide any veins and discoloration.

Step 5: Powder

Pat translucent powder all over your face to set the foundation.

Step 6: Eyeshadow Base

Pat a light, natural beige color onto your eyelid. Use a dabbing motion to ensure that more of the pigment leaves the brush.

Step 7: Crease

Sweep a dark brown lightly into your crease and blend it out as much as you can with the crease brush.

Step 8: Blend and Highlight

Using a lighter beige than your lid color, blend out the crease shadow using a fluffy brush. Then, apply a shimmery light blush color to your browbone to highlight and open your eyes.

Step 9: Starting the Eyeliner

To start your eyeliner wing, draw a short line from the outer corner of your eye at the angle you want the wing to be.

Step 10: Creating the Outline

From the line you just created, draw a horizontal line to a space just past your crease. Then, taper this line gradually to your lashline.

Step 11: Fill It In!

Fill in your outline completely with black liner.

Tip: To make your eyeliner nearly indistructable, go over the gel or pencil with liquid liner. This helps keep your eyeliner from creasing and fading.

Step 12: Finish Up

Sweep a little black shadow under your waterline and put on some mascara. Voila! Eyes are done. Look at you; you're like a cute little alley cat.

Step 13: Eyebrows

Fill in your eyebrows, abuse your hair until it bends to your every whim, and you're done!
