Introduction: SIMPLE YET BEAUTIFUL DIY NATIVITY DECORATION
You too can make this easy nativity decoration to decorate your tree of your home.
Gather your supplies:
- a glue gun - a package of old fashioned clothespins - a small saw to cut the clothespin for the baby - little wooden stars - wire – cut into 6 inch lengths - satin blanket binding or any scraps of fabric for Mary’s head scarf - rope for Joseph’s head - burlap ribbon or any fabric scraps to swaddle the baby in - scissors for cutting the ribbons and/or fabric - hot glue gun and glue sticks
Cut the wire pieces into 6 inch lengths. Bend the tops of the wire pieces over, to form curved staffs. Drill holes into the little wooden stars, if necessary. (My stars came predrilled.) Hot glue the little wooden stars to the curved end of the wire and set aside to dry.
To make baby Jesus, cut or saw the split section or legs of the clothespin off.
Wrap it in burlap ribbon or a fabric swatch of your choice and glue fabric in place. Set aside.
To make Mary, cut the satin blanket binding or fabric of your choice into small rectangular pieces. Glue onto the head of the clothespin, to form Mary’s head scarf.
To make Joseph, cut a small piece of rope and glue it around the circumference of the head of the clothespin. Set aside.
Using your hot glue gun, glue the staff to Mary’s side. Hot glue Joseph to Mary’s side.
Glue the baby on and viola, your decoration is complete. You can hang it on your Christmas tree using the hook on the staff or tie a small ribbon onto the staff, if you prefer.
