Introduction: Natural Swimming Pool Conversion

With the rise in popularity of natural swimming pools around the world here is a
design to CONVERT EXISTING swimming pools to all natural filtration.

Step 1: Filter Basins

Build a raised basin equal to 10% of the volume of the existing pool. Fill with gravel and a variety of reeds and other water plants. The idea is to convert available nutrient in the water making it ultimately available as plant food. The system when balanced will provide crystal clear and algea free water.

Step 2: Plumbing and Aeration

Redirect two thirds of the return water toward the conversion basin. This will allow the skimmer to continue working and aiding in good circulation. The two tier system allows for greater oxygenation and ease in getting around the pool.
