Introduction: Nebulosa: Fixing Your Printer After It Had Been Spoiled by a Chemical Agent.

 This instruction  will demonstrate in a step-by-step logic, how to fix an HP printer, that is unable to start and that has the scanning glass covered with white blurs of mouthwash solution or that has been spoiled by any chemical agent, for instance coffee, water during flood, or chemical substance from a chemical plant.

Step 1: Tools

In order to fix your printer you need:

->Tissue for screen cleaning
-> Paper towel , Napkin type
-> Ethanol
-> Damaged Printer

Step 2: Step 2: Identifying the Damaged Part of the Printer

For each printer there is a different type of internal processors and basically the same user interface.. When looking for the damaged areas on the printer you should either categorize them as part of the internal side of the printer or as part of the user interface.
These pictures show the internal parts of the printer. Most commonly these are the parts of the printer that are extremely hard to reach by any cleaning tool. And they are the center parts of the printer where the main board and the working part of the printer are located. 
How do we clean these parts?

Step 3: Step3: Cleaning the Interface.

In order to clean the user interface, which is monitored by 10% of the current fed to the printer, you have to first check if the chemical entered the inner surface of the interface or if it stayed only at the outer surface of the interface.

If the fluid stayed only on the surface, gently wipe off the surface using napkins immersed with ethanol. Gently rub off the stains left by the chemical. And dry it using a dryer or under the sun if in summer.

If the fluid affected internal parts of interface, then open interface and similarly wipe off using immersed ethanol napkins. But for some printer i will advice not to open because opening it means dooming it.

Step 4: Step 4: Cleaning the Inner Parts

For cleaning the inner parts of the printer, it is better to localize the regions where the fluid/chemical will be more present and more affective. For example the surface of the scanner screen lies on the top of my printer so I can just clean it with the screen cleaning towel. But for the other parts where the ink cartridges are located, the best way to handle it is to open the printer into pieces and dry each piece using sunbathing or using an electronic dryer. For some printers opening it means dooming it. So opening this printer is not one of the options, so we are going to use this two-step procedure:
If the chemical spilled on the printer in a delay of 2min, the best thing to do is to hang the printer up in the air turned upside down, so that the liquid or chemical will drain out by the effect of gravity.
If the delay is more than 24 hours, the best thing to do is to feed steam through the channels of the inner part, and dry it off every 60 second.

For the power outlets and inlets the best way is to let them dry under the sun for  hours and then use the dryer to pressurize the inlets and to remove moisture.

If the chemical has done greater damages to the extent of parts of the printer becoming unusable, you start thinking about buying parts; if you can break the printer into parts and if doing this will not doom your printer.

Step 6: Step 6: Mounting Parts Together

Since the manufacturers do not expect you to mount printer back together on your own there not available instruction on how to do that for each printer. But the fundamentals are the same. Before you assemble a printer , you must have already disassembled it.  So the simplest procedure to assemble the parts of the printer is to follow the order by starting from last part removed to first part removed.

Step 7: Step 7: Testing Repair

At this point you must have completely, either dried the printer from parts of the chemicals or changed parts that needed to be changed. Go ahead and give it a try !

Caution since the chemical or liquid was inside or on the printer , be very cautious when feed electrical power to the printer.

Step 8: Step 8: Does Printer Work?

After checking the power feed , if lights on printer are turned on, it means it is working. That does not mean it is printing. Because printing has to be started by the software not just the hardware. So it is important when fixing the printer to make sure there is no harm done to the physical part of the printer interior that represent the software. And it is also primordial to fix these parts when trying to get rid of chemical stains that could block electrical circuits. Since it is a very delicate task , i will encourage you not to do it if you still want to keep your printer. Rather call a professional who knows about main boards.

But however, if you are poised and risky, take the chance. When scrubbing the surface of this motherboard you should not scrape harder but very gentler in order to do no harm to integrated circuits.

Step 9: Step 9: Does Your Printer Print?

To know if you have completed successfully your repair, you should put it at the test, you should feed ink cartridges, and papers to your printer and see if it is printing.

Now at this step, you should be convinced that you did a good work repairing your printer. Few other errors could occur, such as , programming problems, the printer may not respond accurately or may print blank papers.

If you encounter this type of problems, you should and can only look for technical assistance because your printer need to be reprogrammed or the software section need to be entirely replaced which usually costs a lot more than buying a new printer.

Otherwise, if your print follows exactly the commands you send to it from your computer or other devices, then good job!
