Introduction: Neer Urundai

About: Hai...i live in finland..AFter marg i got an interest in cooking so i just started doing my food blog nd youtube channel..i always want myself to be busy...

I have learnt this recipe from my grand mother...she generally used to make this as evening snack..This is one of my favorite snack and its healthy one..we used to call it as neer urundai but some people used to call as uppu urundai

Step 1: Ingredients:

1.Idly rice- 11/2 cup

2.grated coconut-1/2 cup

3.mustard seed-1/2 tbsp

4.channa dal-1 tbsp

5.urad dal-1 tbsp

6.dry chilly-5 nos

7.curry leaves

8.salt & water as needed

Step 2: Instructions:

1.Wash and soak the idly rice in water for atleast 4 to 6 hours maximum or u can soak it overnight as well

2.Now take a blender,transfer idly rice with required amount of water into the blender,now we gonna blend it as like idly batter consistency

3.Take a pan,add two tablespoon of oil once the oil heats add mustard seed

4.once the mustard seed cracks add chana dal fry once it get golden brown color

5.Add urad dal when the dal starts to turn golden brown color,now add the curry leaves and dry chilly continue to saute once it all get fry

6.Now its time to add idly rice batter and stir continuously in order to vaporize the water from the batter.And finally it will be like dough consistency

7.Now add grated coconut and switch off the flame.let it cool down slightly

8.Grease your palm with oil before making the ball

9.Make a small size ball using dough and keep it aside,now its ready to steam

10.Steam the balls for about 15 mins

11.Now its ready to serve:-)
