CraftbitsI knitted this Newsboy Peak Cap with Patons Shetland Chunky Tweed. This is the best pattern yet I have come across for a newsboy peak cap. However this pattern is very vague on some things so I did some experimenting and came up with a few things to make it my way.

Step 1: Knitting the Hat in the Round

I knitted this hat pattern in the round. I took the pattern from craftbits.com and changed it into a circular knit pattern and added a few things.

Step 2: Knitting the Peak of the Hat

I knitted the peak of the hat in K.1, P.1 rib. You start out with alot of the stitches and then decrease gradually and then to mirror the other side of the peak you start gradually increasing back to the full number of stitches.

Step 3: Sewing the Peak Closed

Then you measure out and cut the size of the craft felt piece to insert in the brim and then sew it closed. I sewed the peak together with the right sides facing out b/c I thought it looked to bulky if you turned it right side out with the stitches hiding on the inside.

Step 4: Attaching Peak to Hat

Attaching the peak to the hat: I sewed the top part of the peak to the right side of the band on the hat. I then flipped the hat over and sewed the bottom part of the peak to the (inside) wrongside of the band on the hat.
