Intro: Newspaper Puzzle Spoon

Every morning billions of people wake up, get dressed, and eat cereal. Hundreds of thousands of these people also like to do puzzles and crosswords in the newspaper as they eat their breakfast. In the 21st century, people no longer have to hold both a spoon and a pen. Now they can use the official Newspaper Puzzle Spoon to both eat cereal and do the puzzles in the morning with one hand!

Here is a very simple guide on how you can make your own very special Newspaper Puzzle Spoon.

STEP 1: Gather the Materials

Gather the following materials...

-Pen (any kind will do)
-Scissors
-Pencil grip (unless the pen already has one)
-Spoon
-Duct Tape

STEP 2: Disassemble the Pen

The second step is to disassemble the pen. You must remove the ink cartridge, the top of the pen (as shown in the picture) and the grip, if there is one. Everything else can be set aside, for it will not be needed during the construction of the spoon.

STEP 3: Assembling Basic Structure

Now you must assemble the basic Newspaper Puzzle Spoon structure. First, take your ink cartridge, and put it into the top of the pen. Next, you must align the pen on the back of the spoon as displayed in the first two pictures below.

Now, slide the grip over the end of the spoon and bring it down, over the spoon and the top of the pen. See the third and fourth picture below. Be careful when sliding the grip over the spoon and the top of the pen. Too much stretching will cause the grip to rip and become unusable.

STEP 4: Finishing Up the Spoon

Now that this is done, we can now finish up the spoon. Cut the ink cartridge if it is a little to long (You don't want the ink cartridge in your mouth, now do you?), but do not cut it up to short, or ink might leak from the cartridge later. Now Use the duct tape and wrap it carefully around the spoon and ink cartridge. Make sure that the tape covers every opening so the ink cartridge is completely covered.

STEP 5: Final Step

Your spoon is now ready for use. Pour out your favorite brand of cereal, pour some milk, prepare the Sodoku or Crossword puzzle, and relax.

it looks like i did this crosword with a spoch
How do you wash this?

Either you use waterproof tape and ABSOLUTELY seal every single crevice, or the tape will fall off causing it too fall apart, or the water will seep into the back of the pen tube causing an inky mess in your dishwasher..
now all we need is a spoon gun! >:D
Lick the milk off the spoon first, then write w/ it!
haha, yea thats what i was thinking.
When can I pick this up at Brookstone?
cool, but one problem: the pen might accidentally leave ink in the cereal, and thats a lawsuit waiting to happen. Put "I do not take responsibility for any results this might produce. Meant for educational purposes only."
As long as you tape every opening there is with the duct tape and didn't cut the ink cartridge way too short, there will be no ink leaking out.
brave guy using a pen for the CW.....i'd be more inclined to hook up a pencil....but where'd the eraser go?
true, but you can always substitute a pencil for a pen in the 3rd step although it might add a bit of bulkiness to the spoon.
Great idea just I think you need to lose the duck tape.
Are you kidding? Duct Tape makes the world go round. :-)
True, but everybody knows that =America Runs on Dunkin'=
Looks useful, however the milk might dribble down your spoon onto the crossword, making everything all treacherous and swampy like.
yeah, great idea: simple, cheap, useful.
