Introduction: Ballcam
The assignment is: design, develop a tool so you can use your nobodyland for a certain period of time. Try to make use of the relation between somebodyland (the surrounding) and nobodyland
Step 1: Nobody Object
I decided to make live recordings of the base so I made use of the land for a short period of time. The project consists out of 2 parts: a television screen and the BollCam. Also, the recordings are to be looked at on Internet.
BallCam
The BallCam on the island is moved by the wind. The ball is really lightweighted so it will be moving all the time. The ball contains a little camera which sends the recordings to a screen on the land and to the Internet. The wind decides what you will see. The technique used in the BallCam is wifi, a wireless connection.
Television screen
The television screen is not far away from the place of recording. The wind decides what you will see so the recordings can vary from a piece of grass, the sky, stones or even water. The screen shows what is going on in nobodyland, even though you are not even there.
Step 2: Materials
Materials for the BallCam
* Little wireless camera with a receiver wifi model 811T Electroshop $53,00
* Battery clip Electroshop $ 1,75
* Battery 9v Electroshop $ 4,90
* See through ball of 160mm Hobbyshop $ 2,70
* Elastic of a book Hobbyshop $ 3,50
* Duck tape Hobbywinkel $ 7,00
Materials for the pillar Total $ 72,85
* Television Electroshop $400,00
*
Tools Total $400,00
* Electric screwdriver
* Spiral drill 6mm
* Pencil
* Roll indicator
* Paint roller and container for paint
Step 3: Step 1.1
1.1
Take the handsaw and saw off the points which are sticking out. The see-through balls need to be round.
Step 4: Step 1.2
1.2
With a 3 mm drill, you have to drll holes in the ball so you can put the elastics through. After doing this, you need to cut the book elastics and put them through the holes.
Step 5: Step 1.3
1.3
Tape the camera (exactly in the middle) to the elastics with the black duck tape.
Step 6: Step 1.4
1.4
Close the ball and check if everything is tightened well. This is really important, the ball will move a lot.
Step 7: Step 2
Connect the screen to the wifi system and test the system.
Step 8: Step 3
Take the BallCam to the location where you want to record. The BallCam needs to be in a range of 15 meters to the receiver. Test the system thoroughly.
Step 9: Finis

You would have to ensure that it does not point directly at the sun. Even a few seconds is not good for the camera and could damage it.
