Introduction: Office Weapons for Beginners

In these instructions I will show you how to make simple yet destructive weapons out of common
office supplies. This is part 1 for beginners. I will have others posted for advanced builders.

Step 1: The Double Maul

This is the first gun to enter the arsenal of OfficeWeapons. It is fast, reliable and accurate. It is also unstable and may blow up in your face. When loaded, you must use force to stop it from going off too early. It is perfect for large meetings where you need accuracy as well as a good punch.

Assembly

Open the Mauly 32 and insert the Mauly 19. It is important to push it all the way in. Hold it firmly in place. The harder you hold, the smaller the chance of premature firing. At this stage it is important to point it in a safe direction. Never, ever look into the front of the gun. It will put your eye out at the first chance it gets.

Firing

Hold the gun firmly and point it at the target. Slowly let go. It will fire when ready. It is quite easy to time the exact firing point. The projectile rotates in the air, inflicting maximum damage to the target.

The construction of this gun ensures that the parts are not worn out so quickly as with some of the other guns. The potential energy in both launcher and projectile contributes to the total energy used to launch the projectile, making a good size-to-power ratio.

Step 2: TEC Maul

The TEC Maul fires the Mauly 19 projectile. Not 100% safe to store, but lightyears safer than the Double Maul family. It can be stored partly or fully assembled. When partly assembled, it is very safe. When fully assembled, it can go off unexpectedly. Firing can be a little bit tricky and it is not as stealthy as some of the other guns. But hey, you can't get everything. Increase accuracy by placing the base of the gun on a table. It's perfect for meetings with its short range and fast assembly time. It is also stealthy. No one suspect you with just one Mauly and a TEC pen.

Assembly

Put the Mauly 19 around the TEC cap 2-4 mm from the rim. If you put it further down, it is not possible to fully assemble the TEC Maul in a safe fashion. If you put it on further up, it will not fire at all. Remember to always point a gun away from you in a safe direction.

The main feature of the TEC pen is that the cap is soft plastic. When you fasten the Mauly 19, it will be slightly suppressed. This enables it to stay on and will help in the firing sequence.

During test-firing, I found out that I had to aim a little to the left of the target to hit it. But that is me. You should test your aim with this gun as with all guns.

Firing

Arming the gun. Now you put the TEC pen into the cap. Not to far in, but enough that it will stay there. This is the critical point in the procedure. If you press it in to far, the gun will fire prematurely. This is dangerous!

To fire the gun, you have to point it at the target and just press the cap down. If you have followed these steps correctly, it will fire the Mauly 19 at your target.

This gun can not stay loaded for a long time. The Mauly 19 loses some of its stored energy due to metal fatigue. Always carry a couple of virgin Mauly 19s.

Step 3: Rubber TEC

The Rubber TEC is probably the most dangerous basic gun there is. With its incredible muzzle velocity it can cause major damage on people, pets and property.

Powered by a high quality thick rubber band it is the perfect weapon for long range attacks.

The Rubber TEC will raise much less suspicion among co-workers than Maul-based guns, especially if you carry a lot of ammo. Walking around with 4 pens is quite normal, and the rubber band will fit nicely in any pocket without any strange bumps or noises.

The only precautions you have to take with this gun is that it is easy for beginners to hit your own hand when firing.

Assembly

Hold the rubber band between your thumb and middle finger of your left hand (if you are right handed). Keep the rubber band as tight as possible (your two fingers as far away from each other as possible). This is to ease the next step. The cap on the TEC pen has to sit on the pen as you place it so the rubber band comes between the pen itself and the arm of the cap. See firing image for correct placement.

The cap should not sit to tight because this will make the rubber band break before it can pull the cap off. It should neither sit too loose when this will make it fire prematurely and not have the full force it is capable of.

Firing

Keep the fingers holding the rubber band as far away from each other as possible. A tighter rubber band ensures a more powerful gun. Pull the TEC pen back always keeping your aim. Eventually the rubber band will pull the cap from the pen, launching it at your target.

The projectile of the Rubber TEC will rotate through the air, thus increasing the damage on impact.
