Apple LCD Watch

Intro: Apple LCD Watch

My wife's OG Apple Watch recently bit the dust. The cover and screen popped off. I dutifully ordered a replacement but decided to keep the old watch for myself.

STEP 1:

I thought it would be cool to put the guts of an old school watch in an Apple Watch.

STEP 2:

The hardest part was removing the etching from the inside of the Apple Watch cover. I'm not sure what it consists of but no solvent would touch it so I resorted to scratching it off a little at a time with my fingernail so as not to damage the glass.

STEP 3:

I wanted to use the guts of a wind-up watch but got lazy and bought the tiniest LCD clock I could find.

STEP 4:

A little squeeze between the pliers popped the casing apart.

STEP 5:

I used the double-sided adhesive silicone sticker that came with the clock to stick it inside the Apple Watch and used an Elmer's Craft glue pen to stick the glass screen cover back on. Thanks for looking!

Just a thought. It's this a LCD not a LED. Good to see something rejuvenated rather than thrown away.
OMG, you're so right! Thank you. I edited the title.
