Onigiri Sushi Coin Purse : 10 Steps

Hey momoluvers it momo and today I'm going to be showing you how to make a cute sushi pouch. You can use it as an iPod case a make up pouch or a coin purse. ***keep in mind, you can also super glue this if you don't sew!***

Step 1: Supplies

1- pink felt
2- white felt
3- tan felt
4- dark green felt
5- strings to match each felt color
6- this template. I used mine from a YouTube video but I put the picture above so you can print it

Step 2: Cut Out and Sew

Cut out each of the pieces from the template. Cut two white from the rice face and two tan from the rice face then sew on the cheeks and the eyes.

Step 3: Mouth

You can do any design you want like a three laying on its side or just a smiley face or a little zigzag line. Whatever you want will look so cute on this but I decided to just go simple with the smiley face

Step 4: Seaweed Strap

the dark green seaweed part will act as a strap you have to sew on about half of it onto the rice face MAKE THE SEAWEED STRAP LONGER in my thoughts, the seaweed strap wasn't long enough. Make it like an inch taller

Step 5: Blanket Stitch

Take the two pieces of white rice and sew the tan on the inside of it. you want a blanket stitch only across the top, don't go any further, this we will use to connect the four pieces all together

Step 6: Blanket Stitch

Blanket stitch all across the and you want to have a clean line on the way through so make sure your stitches are even and really nice

Step 7: Back to the Seaweed

Now going back to the seaweed strap you want to sew a piece of Velcro onto the end of it on the back of the rice pouch you want to put another piece of velcro where it lines up against the other one make sure you put it in the right spot!

Step 8: Finish!
