Introduction: Origami Inflatable Balloon
This is now my fourth instructable. I hope all who see this are happy with the result. Remember, the more precise your folds are, the better the outcome in the model.
Step 1: Materials
You can use a regular printer paper sheet, or you can use a square. In this instructable, I will use a square piece of paper. (if you use the regular rectangular sheet, you will need to cut out a square.)
Step 2: X Time
Make an x in your paper with two diagonal folds.
Step 3: Flip and Fold
Flip the paper upside down, and then fold lengthwise in the middle.
Step 4: Compact
Squish the paper so that the result is like the picture. An easy way to do this is to look at the horizontal fold, and make it bend at the center, resulting in a water bomb base. (This might not make sense to you, because I have a hard time explaining it.)
Step 5: Tip Top
Fold the two tips on the front of the paper to the top of the triangle.
Step 6: Repeat 1
Repeat the last step on the other side.
Step 7: Corners to the Center
As the title says, make the top layers on the right and left corners fold to the center.
Step 8: Wings
Fold the tips from step 5 and 6 down until they reach the edge of the corners.
Step 9: Back to the Center
Fold the flaps back to the center.
Step 10: Tuck Them In!
Tuck the triangle flaps into the pockets formed by the corners.
Step 11: Inflation
This is how you inflate the balloon.
Step 12: Done
Now you are finished with your origami balloon! (If you make it out of a water resistant material or a sheet of card stock paper, you can fill it with water and drop it off your porch!)
