Supplies

Paper, scissors (or lick and tear if no scissors)

Step 1: Step 1:

Fold the paper by grabbing the top right corner and bringing the corner down to the left edge. (Best practice: run your finger over the crease several times to ensure better results.)

Step 2: Step Two:

Open the paper back up and fold again by grabbing the top left corner and bringing the corner down to the right edge. (Best practice: run your finger over the crease several times to ensure better results.)

Step 3:

Flip the paper over then fold the rectangle up so that the bottom edge is flush with the bottom of the triangle. (Best practice: run your finger over the crease several times to ensure better results.)

Step 4: Step Four:

Cut off the rectangle with scissors (save this piece for later) so you have a square with the “X” shaped creases. (Put the center of the “X” ,that bulbs out, towards the folding surface aka table, counter, etc..)

Step 5: Step 5:

Pinch the two edges together with your left hand and push the top down, with your right, towards the folding surface so you have a triangle. (This part can be tricky and may take a few tries. )

Step 6: Step Six:

Grab the bottom right edge of the top fold and move it so it points to the top of the triangle. (Best practice: run your finger over the creases several times for best results.)

Step 7: Step 7:

Take the bottom left corner to the top of the pyramid, them flip over. (Best practice: run your finger over the creases several times for best results.)

Step 8: Step 8:

Flip over then take the bottom right corner to top of pyramid then the bottom left corner. You should now have a diamond shape. (Best practice: run your finger over the creases several times for best results.)

Step 9: Step 9:

Pick up the right corner and fold it over to the left so the paper is blank. Flip over and repeat the step on other side so both are blank. (Best practice: while holding the paper with one hand smooth the paper with the other.)

Step 10: Step 10:

Grab the right and left corners and insert the right into the left’s slot, then smooth it down flat. (This part falls out easily and needs to be reinserted when it does.)

Step 11: Step 11:

Now flip over grab the left and right corners and insert the right corner into the left slot, then smooth it down. (This part falls out easily and needs to be reinserted when it does.)

Step 12: Step 12:

Flip the paper so you can see the hole in the bottom, put your mouth on the hole and blow softly, it will soon fill up with air. (You may have to blow a few times to get it to fill all the way.)

Step 13: Step 13:

Flip it so you can see the top again, grab the petals at the top and peel them about an inch down. (This is where the right corner fold into the left slot likes to fall out most, just reinsert it when it does.)

Step 14: Step 14:

Peel the last three. The top of the flower is done!!!

Step 15: Step 15:

Get the cut off piece from earlier, start by rolling the bottom left edge. (Using all of the paper, no waste!!!)

Step 16: Step 16:

Continue rolling until you have a stem. (Hold this as shown in picture, it likes to unroll. If it unrolls, no worries, it’s easier to roll up the second time.)

Step 17: Step 17:

Insert the stem into the hole you blew air into earlier. (You can grab the stem on the bottom and twist it clockwise to make it thinner if needed.) Your tulip is now complete!!
