After thinking what I could do for the wedding contest, I realised that chatterboxes (with a few tweaks) could make a great wedding ornament! They look really pretty, like flowers. I chose to make them with old book pages because I really like the way it looks. This is how you can do it!

Step 1: You Will Need

A book you are willing to take pages out of (better effect with an old, classic book with pages that are starting to yellow. Only use a book that is otherwise destined for landfill or the recycling!)
Some scissors
May need cutting table
May need hot glue gun

Step 2: Making It Square

Rip a page out of your book, trying not to rip the text. Once the page is out of the book, cut the ripped edge to make it nice and straight. Fold one corner to the edge of the paper and crease well. Cut the piece of paper (that is not in the fold) off and put the it in the bin. Unfold your paper. Now, your page is square. In preparation for the next step, fold diagonally, across and up. The place where all your line meet is the center point.

Step 3: Folding in the Corners

Fold all four corners into the centre point and crease well. Flip your paper over and do the same again. Fold your small square to make a rectangle and fold the rectangle to make a square, crease well. Unfold your square to make a rectangle and unfold again to make your small square. Now you are ready for the next step.

Step 4: Nearly Finished

Flip your page over, insert two of your fingers into two of the flaps and fold inwards. Do the same with the other two flaps. To check that it is right, make sure all the edges are even.

Step 5: Just a Few Finishing Touches

Make a few more and arrange them in pattern. If you want, you can tie a piece of string to the end a hang them the edge of chairs or whatever you like. This is what I did.

I hot glue gunned pieces of thread to the backs of my "chatterboxes". Then I hung them on the ceiling and displayed.
