Introduction: PC Build
This is a step by step of how to assemble an Ultra PC.
Supplies
Case x 4 screws
Motherboard x 6 screws
- Ram stick
- Flash Drive
- 24 pin
- 4/8 pin
- 3 System fan
- Front panel connectors
- SSD
- Heat sink and fan
- CPU
Power supply x 4 screws
Side panel screws x2
Step 1: Anti-Static Wrist Band & Mat
It is essential to have this when putting together your PC build.
Step 2: Placing CPU
Make sure to align the golden triangle on the CPU with the triangle on the corner of the CPU socket. Put the CPU bracket down to make sure the CPU is secure and in place.
Step 3: Applying Thermal Paste
- Next make sure the CPU bracket is securing the CPU
- apply a pea sized amount of thermal paste onto the center of the CPU.
Step 4: Heat Sink
After placing the thermal paste on the CPU correctly
- gently place the heat sink on the top of the CPU aligning it with the four holes around the CPU
- Turn the knobs on the heat sink in the direction of arrows until you hear a clink noise
- Then plug the CPU fan into the 4 pin CPU fan connector
Step 5: RAM Stick
- Align the RAM and then unclick the side notch
- Place the RAM stick to ensure it aligns with the slot your putting it in
- Push the RAM down gently into the slot
- When you here a click you can click the side notch back into place so it holds the RAM stick.
Step 6: Power Supply
- Place the power supply back into the PC case and start screwing it back into place
- All four screws should be secure and in place
- Connect the Berg and Molex connectors together
- Put the side panel back on and screw it down securely
- Then flip the case over to prepare to install the Motherboard
Step 7: Motherboard
When gently placing the Motherboard make sure it is aligned with the standoff holes to ensure metal on metal DO NOT touch. Then screw the Motherboard into the standoff holes.
Step 8: Pin
Plug the 24 pin into the Motherboard.
Step 9: Pin
Plug the 4/8 pin into the Motherboard.
Step 10: Front Panel Connectors
Bottom Row plug in
- Reset switch
- HDD LED +-
into the bottom row of the front panel connectors.
Top rowplug in
- POWER SW
- POWER LED +
- POWER LED -
into the top row connectors.
Step 11: Additional Connections
There are some additional connections that should be plugged in to ensure the PC works.
- Plug the SPEAKER back in the SPK slot
- Connect the HD AUDIO in the last slot to the far right of the front panel connectors
- Put the system fan into the CHA_FAN/WP slot
- Connect the USB3 in between the SATA 3_4 and USB 5_6 slots.
Step 12: Verify Placement
Look at your motherboard and check over everything. Ensure that you plugged everything in right and that the
- Power supply
- Front panel connections
- 24 & 4/8 pins
- System fan
- USB 3 are all connected in the right slots.
After verifying placement put panel cover on the case and screw it down. Ensure the panel is securely screwed down then set it up to test.
Step 13: Test
After the PC is assembled make sure to plug it up and check for POST beeps.
