Introduction: PIRATE SWORD
A you can see I made this Sword as a prop for my Pirate costume. The wood for the sword comes from an old water ski I found at a thrift store, because water ski's are made of a strong wood the sword is fairly durable. I made the guard on the handle by offsetting and gluing together several blocks of wood and then sanded it on a belt sander to bring it to the final shape. At first the handle kept braking because it was too brittle, so I fibreglass it and it has held up so far. The hole sword is panted silver with blotches of black and brown to give it a rustic look.
