Gosh that's smart! I made a venturi years ago with the idea of spraying liquid fertiliser onto the garden using the reticulation pump. Not sure it ever worked. Maybe I will try this idea.

Thanks. You might not need this much vacuum to spray fertilizer. I think it might be easier to use a water siphon technique for fertilizer. However, perhaps I have provided some good ideas.

Learning new cool things you can do is always good information. Seeing how things can fit together to become something new is a great skill.

That's what the fertilizers you screw onto a hose use. Venturi pumps have been used for many decades on board ships for emergency water pumping. When there's battle/fire/explosion damage, it frequently disrupts the power to that section of the ship. The damage control crews use venturi pumps connected to fire hoses to pump out compartments flooded by seawater or fire fighting foam mixes.
There's even a venturi pump backup available for home sump pump systems.

That's what I meant by a water siphon technique. Water is used in a venturi type nozzle to pull in the liquid fertilizer. Siphon is really not the right wording, but that is what they call those devices - venturi siphon.

Nice project. Thank for sharing.

Thanks. I had a request to post this. It is important to understand that these can be purchased fairly cheaply, but the DIY experience is what makes it worth the time.
