Introduction: Paneer Tikka
Paneer Tikka (पनीर टिक्का) is a famous Vegetarian Indian dish. It is basically Indian Cottage Cheese marinated with yogurt, spiced with blend of Indian spices (Masala). It is a soft and spicy dish!
You can cook it on a pan, in a microwave or a grill .
Supplies
- 100 grams Paneer or Tofu
- 1 1/2 tbsp yogurt
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin and fenugreek seed powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Tandoori Masalal or any Masala of your choice (Store-bought or home made)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Some Dried Fenugreek leaves
- A pinch of chat masala (Optional)
Step 1: Preparing the Marinate
Add the following ingredients in to a mixing bowl:
1 1/2 tbsp yogurt
1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste, 1 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red chilly powder, 1/2 tsp cumin and fenugreek powder, 1 1/2 tsp Tandoori Masalal, 1/2 tsp salt, Some Dried Fenugreek leaves and a pinch of chat masala
I haven't used any red food colour, but instead used Kashmiri red chilly powder
Kashmiri red chilly powder is less spicy and gives a nice red colour to the marinate!
Step 2: Mix It Well
Step 3: Put the Paneer Cubes in the Bowl
You can also add diced bell pepper and onion if you like.
Step 4: Mix and Coat the Cubes Well With the Marinate
Step 5: Marinate It for 30 Mins
Step 6: Put the Paneer Cubes on Skewers
- The skewers should be soaked in water for 20-30 mins or else they can burn while cooking.
Step 7: Heat Up Some Oil in a Pan, and Cook the Paneer
Flame should be low while cooking
Step 8: Keep Turning the Skewers Every 1-2 Minutes
Paneer should be cooked from all the sides
Step 9: Once It Is Cooked From All the Sides, Its READY!
Enjoy!
