Introduction: Password Protection Program

This is a way to hide a computer password. It will allow you to protect valuable data but will also let you recover a forgotten password without too much difficulty. Although it may not be the most practical of solutions, this idea is certainly very fun.

Step 1: Setup

This first puzzle is both very simple and quite complicated at the same time. This puzzle is a scrambled Rubik's cube that anyone wanting to access the computer password will need to solve.

Step 2: The First Challenge

Upon solving the cube, one must select the last profile on the desired computer's lock screen. This profile does not have a password, so it can be opened with a single click. However, this profile only contains one program that I wrote. Run the program and then hold the the solved cube to the webcam. The program will use color detection to determine whether the cube is solved or not. If the cube is solved, the program will show you the location of the next puzzle.

Step 3: The Second Challenge

The second and last puzzle is a 3d printed maze box with the passcode written on a paper inside. This box is very difficult to open, especially on the first try. If you do manage to open the box, however, you will be rewarded with the passcode to the computer.

Step 4: Conclusion

This was a lot of fun to make, and I am very grateful for this contest for giving me an opportunity to make this simple security system. This took me a lot of time to make, however, so I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my Instructable. You can use this design on pretty much anything, nit just a computer password.
