Introduction: Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats

About: I love woodworking and making fun stuff on the lathe, I really enjoy making stuff and posting it on this website, and I love the Hobbit

So I finally got around to making some treats for my basset hound (and Australian Cattle). The first batch I made was just random ingredients that I thought they would like thrown together. This time I made an actual flavor, peanut butter pumpkin. Let's get started!

Step 1: Ingredients

You'll need:

4 cups flour

1 cup water

1 1/2 cups oats

2 tablespoon peanut butter

1 egg

2-3 tablespoon canned pumpkin

Anything else your dog likes!

Step 2: Mixing!

I mixed the flour, water, egg, and pumpkin first and then added the oats. Your going for a bread dough consistency here. Add more flour or water to get the right consistency.

Step 3: Rolling and Cookie Cutting!

I used a rolling pin to roll it to about a 1/4" thick. Then I used a dog bone cookie cutter that I bought at Joann Fabrics and went to work.

Step 4: Baking

I let these bake at 210 degrees F. They need to bake at a low temperature for a very long amount of time otherwise they will be to soft and doughy. So I let them bake for 2-4 hours...be sure to check on them every now and then! And that's it! Now go give them to your pooch and sit down and watch netflix together!
