Introduction: Peas Pulao
Peas Pulao is basically an asian recipe . It is gluten free as well as tasty and healthy . In this recipe i have added Peas you can even add other vegetables like Potato and Carrot to enhance its taste and make it more healthy .
Step 1: Ingredients
1: Rice :1/2 kg
2: Peas :1 cup (Boiled)
3: Cooking Oil :1/4 kg
4: Tomato Puree :4 Tablespoon
5: Onion :Medium sized finely chopped
6: Ginger :2 teaspoon finely chopped
7: Garlic :2 teaspoon finely chopped
8: Salt :2 teaspoon
9: Red Chilli powder :1/2 teaspoon
10: Garam Masala powder :1/2 teaspoon
11:Coriander powder :1/2 teaspoon
12:Cumin seeds :1 teaspoon
13:Water
Step 2: Soaking of Rice
Soaked rice one hour before cooking .
Step 3: Stir Frying
Heat oil in a pan on low to medium flame . I take mustard oil because it is more healthy but you can take any cooking oil . Now add sliced onions and stir fry until they turn in to light golden colour . Add chopped Ginger and Garlic and stir fry until they all turn in to golden brown . Now add Cumin seeds and crackle .
Step 4: Adding Spices
Add 1/4 cup Water and then add tomato puree , Boiled Peas , Salt , Red chilli powder , Garam Masala powder and Coriander powder and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on medium flame until all water evaporates.
Step 5: Adding Rice
Now add 1 litre water in it . As water simmers on high flame add Soaked rice when water evaporates cover the partially cooked Peas pulao with lid and let it cook for 5 - 10 minutes on low flame and after that revert the layer of rice and again cover the lid and cook it on low flame for 5 - 10 minutes .
Step 6: Serving
When rice are ready switch the stove off . Take out in serving dish and they are ready to eat . This can be served to four .
