You are awesome! Thanks for sharing this cool project. It works great and helps to demonstrate a handful of important concepts. :-)

Wow, I think this one has my vote. One question tho, what do you use to keep your battery from over charging? I know that phones have an internal "Shut off" switch once it is fully charged, I'm just wondering if the phone will automatically "Stop charging" the same way that it does when plugged into a solar panel or the wall.

Thanks. Yes, it should "Stop Charging" the same way. Because the wall charger does not have any role in that. The "Stop Charging" mechanism is in your phone and should work the same way.

okay - let me tell you another trick.. Suppose you cut the two wires at point A and B. Now you have got 4 ends. []= =[] say, A was cut into A1, A2 and B is cut into B1,B2. (remember to mark the ends properly). Have a look at my diagram. Connect the charger to the power and measure the voltage across the two ends A1,B1. (Assuming you connect positive lead of voltmeter to A1 and negative lead to B1) if you get +5V in the reading, it means A1 is positive and B1 is negative. Hence A2 should be connected to Positive and B2 to negative. Conversely, if you get -5V in the reading, the A1 is negative and B1 is positive so A2 should be connected to negative and B2 to postive. I hope this explains. Feel free to ask me if you have further doubts.
