Introduction: Perf Board From Trash

Here is a cheap and easy perf board built out of materials that almost everyone has lying around. This is perfect for Arduino projects or just a homemade circuit. This project takes about half an hour to make.

Supplies

materials

  • TV remote

tools

  • drill
  • 1/16 drill bit
  • sandpaper
  • xacto knife
  • ruler
  • flat head screwdriver

Step 1: Disassemble Remote

Use the flat head screwdriver to pry the two sides of the remote apart. Discard the outer plastic shell. You only need the circuit board.

Step 2: Cutting the Circuit Board

Use the xacto knife to score the circuit board. Then snap it off along the cut line. You can also use scissors to cut the circuit board.

Step 3: Sand

Use the sand paper to sand all of the copper traces off of the green side of the circuit board. A dremel makes this step a lot faster.

Step 4: Mark and Drill

Use the ruler and xacto knife to mark a 4mm grid on the circuit board. Take the drill and drill a hole at each intersection of the grid.
