Step 1: Step 1: Looking for the Best Image / Buscando La Mejor Imagen

For this activity, children should search the internet for the image they like. The most appropriate image is a silhouette, tell the kids to look for the image in the search engine followed by the word silhouette.

Para esta actividad, los niños deben buscar en internet la imagen que mas les guste. La imagen mas adecuada es una silueta, comenta a los chicos que busquen la imagen en el buscador seguida de la palabra silueta.

Step 2: Step 2: Convert the Image to .SVG / Convierte La Imagen a SVG

We are going to use Tinkercad to make our model. This application allows importing .svg models (vectors) so we must convert our image to this format before importing it into Tinkercad.

There are many web pages that can do the conversion on-line. You just have to search on Google: convert image to svg, and select the page you want

Vamos a utilizar Tinkercad para realizar nuestro modelo. Esta aplicación permite importar modelos .svg así que deberemos convertir nuestra imagen a este formato antes de importarla en Tinkercad.
Existen muchas paginas web que pueden hacer la conversion on-line. Solamente debes buscar en Google: convertir imagen a svg, y seleccionar la pagina que desees.

Step 3: Step 3: Import on Tinkercad / Importa La Imagen a Tinkercad

Once the conversion is done, select the option to import from Tinkercad, but pay attention because you must look for the converted file, not the original image, sometimes it is usually in the downloads folder and it will be shown with a browser icon and not a thumbnail of the image.

Una vez hecha la conversión, selecciona la opción importar de Tinkercad, pero presta atención porque debes buscar el archivo convertido no la imagen original, a veces suele estar en la carpeta de descargas y se mostrara con un icono de navegador y no una miniatura de la imagen.

Step 4: Step 4: Complete Your Design / Completa Tu Diseño

Last step before printing our file.

We must adjust the size of the design and add a hole to insert our pencil. We must measure the size of the pencil we are going to use, although most of them fit well into a hole with 8 millimeters in diameter.

In this step we can also invite children to personalize their designs with their names or whatever they want.

Debemos ajustar el tamaño del diseño y añadir un agujero para introducir nuestro lapiz. Debemos medir el calibre del lapiz que vayamos a utilizar, aunque la mayoria entran bien en un agujero de 8 milimetros de diametro.

En este paso ademas podemos invitar a los niños a que personalicen sus diseños con sus nombres o lo que deseen.
