Introduction: Pet Mosaic
Supplies:
pencil
black Sharpie
construction paper to match pet's colors
scissors
glue stick
large piece of white paper (I used 11 x15 watercolor paper.)
Optional:
damp cloth and a dry cloth for cleaning glue off your fingers
Step 1: Pose Your Pet
This is Lulu, the subject for my mosaic.
Step 2: Draw Your Pet
Drawing lightly with the pencil, make a simple outline of your pet. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Step 3: Outline Pet With Sharpie
With the black Sharpie, trace over your pencil drawing. Then you can erase your pencil lines.
Step 4: Cut Construction Paper
Cut construction paper into different sized triangles.
Step 5: Gluing
Start with your pet's body and glue triangles along the borders. Overlap your pieces.
Step 6: Keep Gluing
Fill in the rest of the body with triangles.
Step 7: Status Update
Lulu asks, "Are you done with my mosaic yet?"
Step 8: Ears
Now glue in triangles for your pet's ears.
Step 9: Face and Tag
Fill in your pet's face with triangles. Also fill in her identification tag. I made one rectangular piece for her name.
Step 10: Eyes and Nose
Fill nose with triangles. I cut circles for the inside of the eyes. Lulu also has two little freckles.
Step 11: Background
Since Lulu is white and the paper is white, I added a background color.
Step 12: Get Approval
See what your pet thinks of your mosaic masterpiece. Lulu loves it!
