Introduction: Plant Stand

I made a plant stand to hold my one of many plants! (Yes I have a plant addiction) What did I previously use dowels for? I had bought a set of dowels to make an automata for an engineering project!

Supplies

What you do need

  • 0.75" Dowels (4)
  • 3/8" Dowels (3)
  • Drill
  • Adhesive
  • Band Saw
  • Wood Stain (optional)
  • Zip-Ties (optional)

What you don't need

  • A child that knocks down plants

Step 1: Marking

For the large dowels, mark where you will drill your holes to insert the smaller dowels. On two of the dowels I drilled above the line and for the other two I drilled below. Make sure the holes are level.

Step 2: Assemble

Assemble the dowels together. I used hot glue to keep everything together. To keep the plant balanced, use a third dowel (broken in half) and glue on top of the lower dowel. (Refer to cover picture)

Step 3: Stain

  • This is optional! I used a Water-Based Interior Wood Stain (Weathered Gray Satin)
  • I added zip-ties for extra security.
