Introduction: Plant Shelving From an Old Ladder

We were at a recycling center and found an old ladder a bit over three yards long.  It had some old paint on it and plenty of character.

Having seen something similar on a gardening show, I figured we could cut it in half and make it into shelving for some of the propagated pots in our courtyard area.

Steps:
1. get ladder home - it was big!
2. Cut ladder in half on the same angle as the middle step.
3. Paint all cuts and exposed timber with an outdoor sealer/primer style paint, feathering off the edges so that it looked weathered/worn and accidental, rather than like it had been dipped for protection recently.
4. Attach a new top step to the bottom half, sand the squared edges off to make it look old and worn.
5. Lean against the fence.
6. Stack with pots!
