Introduction: Plastic Wallet for Tissues

This is a plastic wallet for carrying paper tissues in a handbag or a backpack. This is especially useful for protecting the tissues from getting damaged by other things moving around in the bag.

Supplies

  • Clear PVC sheet - 3mm thickness, A4 size (at least 200mm wide).
  • Pliers for plastic snap buttons for T3 or T5 fasteners (~$10)
  • T3 (small) or T5 (medium) plastic fasteners (~$1 for 10 sets)
  • Double-sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Marker pen
  • A4 printed template (PDF in attachment)

Step 1: Transfer the Design

Align the PVC sheet with the template and place a bit of double-sided tape on each corner of the sheet. Trace the lines using the marker pen. Mark the position of the 4 holes on each corner.

Step 2: Cut the PVC Sheet and Punch the Holes

Cut the PVC sheet using the traced guideline. Clean the marker lines with a bit of alcohol.

Punch the holes on each corner. You may use a box-cutter to trim the burrs from punching the hole, since the raised edges can interfere with the installation of the fasteners.

Step 3: Install the Fasteners

Fold the two side flaps first, align both holes, and push through the head of the fastener. Fold the bottom flap and push its hole also through the head of the fastener. Set the other piece of the fastener on top and use the pliers to crush the tip, thus securing the fastener.

Install the opposite fastener on the top flap. Make sure that you are mounting the matching fastener, so that they actually snap together.
