Introduction: Plush Octopus Lamp, Create Via Needle Felting Wool

About: I might be bit craft obsessed. There don't seem to be many types of craft that I'm unwilling to try. Using my hands helps me stop doomscrolling.
This is a simple project. A little wool batting needle felted around a led light string to make a cute little lamp. It takes time and attention to detail, but no expensive tools or special skills.

Supplies

Micro LED light string
Wool batting
Felting needles
Foam ( felting surface)
Craft wire

Step 1: Create Frame

Bend the wires of the light string into 8 legs of octopus and reinforce with wire.

Step 2: Wrap Arms

Wrap all 8 arms individually with batting.

Step 3: Create the Body

I first created flat pieces then tacked the part first into a loop before attaching to body then the second was attached on top

Step 4: Smooth and Refine Shape

Continue to shape little by little.

Step 5: Cover Shape

Fill out the shape of the legs and attach color to the surface of the top of limbs.

Step 6: Refine Shape

Make sure all surface is covered. Correct any flaws by continuing to add little bits of color and white as needed. Smooth the surface as you go.

Step 7: Apply Details

Starting with the whites, I then felted the eyes.

Step 8: Finished Light
