Introduction: Pokemon Duel Board Game

About: About me, you ask. Well, I don't want to give any information that will lead you to find where I live, but I am a person that loves trying to make things himself, and also loves things like computer science, m…

Ever heard of the new PVP Pokémon game called "Pokémon Duel"? If not, I would recommend getting it, but if you have, then this instructable is for you! I recreated the game but in a board game style. It doesn't need many things and is a really easy thing to make, so have fun and Duel on! Just one thing before you continue reading, I originally included screenshots of the game, but I had to delete them because they aren't my own

Step 1: Make Sure You Know How to Play

The best way to learn the game is to play it first hand. If you have a phone, you can download it and use the tutorial, or if you don't have a phone, you can look it up. The in-game tutorial is actually helpful and lets you play as you learn. As one last disclaimer, I am not going to be able to explain during this instructable what things are, so it is extremely important that you know what the game is and how to play before you finish reading all of this.

Step 2: Get What You Need

As I said before, you don't need that much to make this. What you need is:
*A thin foam board that doesn't have to be too big, but as big as you want your game board (Could use white construction paper too)

*A pair of scissors

*Pokemon Duel app (Optional)

*A pencil

*A black sharpie

*Some colored pens/pencils (Optional)

*A quarter

*Paper

*A ruler

Step 3: Draw the Board

First, you need to get out your foam board and a pencil. Trace on the foam the shape of the Pokèmon Duel. Below the map on both sides, there are two places. The bench (The 6 circles), and the pokèmon center (The 2 circles with + signs on them). To create the circles, get the quarter, and trace the outside of it to make the perfect circle size. As a tip to space out the map correctly, use the ruler and find a distance to use between each space, and also know that the middle doesn't have the same number of spaces as the top and bottom.

Step 4: Choose Your Team

In this step, you will need to choose the teams that you want for the duel board game. I chose a set with two Glaceons, two Jolteons, 1 Leafeon, and 1 Zapdos. I made the same teams for both players, but you can choose whatever you want.

Step 5: Create the Figures

For this, you will need the paper, quarter, pencil, scissors, and the colored pen or pencil. First, trace a quarter onto the paper, and cut it out. You need to do that twelve times. You need to do it twelve times because each team needs six pokèmon. Then you need to write down the names of the pokèmon you chose in the last step onto the circles. You can also draw something based off of the Pokèmon its-self (Like how I drew a lightning bolt for Zapdos). As one last thing, I made a scribble of a certain color depending on what team the Pokèmon is on.

Step 6: Record Your Pokèmon's Stats

For this, you need to have a piece of paper, and a pencil. In this step, Get out the paper and write down different stats of the pokèmon, like speed, damage an attack does, special abilities, and how many stars the abilities have. But most importantly, You need to number the attacks. As an example of what I mean, this would be what it would look like:

1-20 = Dodge

21-68 = Tackle - 40 Dmg.

69-91 = thunder-wave*(explain at the bottom of the paper what thunder wave does)

92-100 = miss

The attacks can be found in the app, but also can be looked up. Once you have that recorded, you can move on to the next step.

Step 7: Find Something to Pick a Random Number

Now, The reason that you numbered the attacks through 100 was because they get randomly selected, and the numbers in the game are out of 100s I found an app to download that picked random numbers, but you could find them on websites also if you don't have a phone.

Step 8: Add Some Finishing Touches

Now that everything else is done, the game is almost ready. In this stage, you will need to take out the game map, and the sharpie marker. Now you can just trace over all the pencil with a sharpie, and make it stand out more. When that is done, you are ready to play!
