Pom-Pom Shooter

Pom-pom shooters are a fun, hands-on activity that can be used to promote authentic discussions during a science lesson.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies.

To make a pom-pom shooter, you will need:

• a balloon
• a disposable, plastic cup
• scissors
• pom-poms

Step 2: Cut the End Off of the Plastic Cup.

**Warning: please be very careful when using the scissors to cut the bottom of the cup. This may create a jagged edge on the end of the cup that may need to be smoothed out.

Step 3: Knot the End of the Balloon.

Step 4: Cut the End Off of the Balloon.

Make sure to not cut too much of the balloon off.

Step 5: Stretch the Balloon Over the Drinking Edge of the Cup.

Be careful not to stretch the balloon over the cut side of the cup, or the balloon may tear.

Step 6: You're Ready to Launch!

Place the pom-pom inside the shooter. To launch the pom-pom, pull back on the balloon and release.
