Process of Elimination Card Trick

This is one of the first card tricks I ever learned. It is a self-working card trick, specifically created for beginners, but anybody can do it.

Step 1: Setup

The setup for this trick is actually quite simple. Just arrange the 5, 4, 3, and 2 of spades on the top, so that the 2 is on top.

Step 2: Pick a Card...

Spread the cards and have one chosen from the middle. (Picture 1) The one I chose was the eight of hearts. (Picture 2) square the deck. Have your spectator put his/her card on top of the deck (Picture 3) and cut the deck. (Picture 4)

Step 3: Find Your Setup.

Just as the title describes, Find the 2, 3, 4, and 5 of spades. Once you've found them, you're going to upjog 5 cards starting with the 5 of spades, and upjogging every other card until you have 5 upjogged. Look at the last picture If you're confused.

Step 4: The Part That Everyone Remembers.

This is the fun part. square the deck, leaving your cards upjogged. Once you've done that, grip the deck by it's sides in a very firm grip. Push down on the upjogged cards, and a packet will slide down, with the face card as 4. push up on that, and it will be a three. Push down on that packet, and it will be a 2. Push Up on that, and It will be the spectator's card. It will leave them speechless.

Step 5: Enjoy!
