Step 1: Things You'll Need
Three lamps (Two product one backdrop), a piece of gray cloth ( i used a broken DDR max pad with gray back) , a Sheet of glass , Table ( I used lego boxs with a piece of steel for top) , Jels , Diffusion paper or trace paper (like i used) , and a Tripod.
Step 2: Set the Table
Place your Glass and Metal Sheet on the Table.
Step 3: Put Up the Cloth.
Hang your Cloth. I tied the Cord of my pad to a old bed frame.
Step 4: Put in Your Lamps and Jell and Diffuse Them.
Place the Lamps as shown and tape your paper to the main Lamps and Jell the Back light if you want.
Step 5: Your Done!
Turn on everything and get you photo on!
One last thing...
NEVER USE FLASH!
The last Photo was taken with flash and the one before with out so guys and gals turn off your camera flash!

Word of warning: If you are using hot lamps like the halogen work lamp in the first image on this page, you will need some sort of clip that will hold your diffuser of gel away from the light. You don't want to catch your subject on fire! ;)

There are gels that are fire/melt resistant, but it is always best to avoid situations where you might set your studio on fire.

You can actually get away using flash, just as long as it's off camera. If reflections cause too much of an issue, use a polarising filter.

FYI: The word is "GEL" not "Jell"

I dont unterstant the JELLS. what are they and why are they used? dcr1942@verizon.net I wold like to try this method

Jels are thin flexible plastic sheets that come in various colors. You hang this thin sheet in front of a lamp to change the color of the light. In the thumbnail you can see a red light hitting the background. Well i used a red piece of clear plastic (like chocolate boxes are wrapped in) as a jel in front of a desk lamp so the light would be red and not just white.
