Setting up Queenie: The Epilog Zing Laser

Step 1: Open the Lid of the Laser

Step 2: Place Your Material

Place your material inside. If the material is showing signs of ANY warping. Place the material in a central location with honeycomb (the bed of the laser) visible on either side.

Step 3: Honeycomb Tabs

If your piece needs to be flattened due to warping, locate the honeycomb clips next to the laser

Step 4: Secure Your Material to the Honeycomb

Using the clips secure your piece to the honeycomb. Slide the clip into a hole at a diagonal. Twist the clip until it is perpendicular to the top of the laser and locking the piece in place. Call staff if you need assistance.

If your material IS NOT warped skip this step, and instead, place the material in the topmost left corner.

Step 5: Focusing the Laser

Click on the focus laser button. This button will move the carriage forward and allow you to focus the laser

Step 6: Focusing the Laser

Pull the focus arm down with your finger. Notice in the image the focus arm is out of focus and is too far from the material.

Step 7: Focusing the Laser

Click the up and down arrows until the focus arm has some tension on it. Call staff if you need assistance. When satisfied with the focus, replace the focus arm back in its holder on the black carriage.

Step 8: Setting the X/Y Position

Click the X/Y unlock button and the red laser dot button. A small green light will turn on next to the laser button to let you know it is on.

Step 9: Setting the X/Y Position

Pull the black carriage and laser head to the top left corner of your piece. The red laser dot should be visible on your piece.

Step 10: Setting the X/Y Position

Click the Green Play Button to set and lock the X/Y position.

Step 11: Finding Project

Click the Return arrow button to view available jobs. Use the up and down arrows to scroll through available jobs if yours is not already showing. Select your job, close the lid, and click the Green Play button to start.
