Introduction: Fun, Easy Vegan Fried Rice!
This is a fun, easy vegan recipe that is balanced and nutritious. I thought to make this because many times new or un-experienced Vegan eaters have a hard time finding meals which are affordable and easy to make themselves. All of the ingredients in this recipe are easily available in most countries, and not extremely expensive either.
I had lots of fun making this project, and I hope you enjoy!
Step 1: Ingredients
Ingredients:
300 grams of Rice (1 Cup)
80 grams of corn kernels (1/2 Cup)
1 Carrot
1 Zucchini
2 cloves of garlic
1 onion
1 or 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (or any unflavored oil)
2 tablespoons soy sauce (this can be changed according to preference)
Tools:
Large Saucepan or Wok Pan Pot
Wooden Spoon
Spoon
Knife
Cutting Board
Step 2: Cook the Rice
Boil about 1l of water.
Once it comes to a boil, place the packet of rice in the water. Make sure to leave an edge sticking out, so it is easier to remove later.
Wait 8-10 minutes, then remove carefully using a fork.
Shake out excess water carefully, and remove from the bag.
Step 3: Prep the Vegetables
Meanwhile, wash the carrot and zucchini, then peel the carrot.
Dice both the carrot and zucchini.
Peel onion and garlic, and chop into fine pieces.
WARNING:
Be careful when using knives! If you're under 15, please have an adult help!
Step 4: Cook Vegetables
Pour oil into a large saucepan or wok pan, and let sit on high heat until it begins to spread.
Put diced carrot, onion, and garlic into the pan, and let sit for 1-2 minutes.
Turn heat to medium once they begin to brown, and stir gently.
Then place zucchini into the pan, let cook for 2-3 minutes, and add corn.
Let the entire thing cook for 3 more minutes, and stir regularly to cook everything evenly.
Step 5: Combining the Final Ingredients
After the entire vegetable mixture has cooked for 3 minutes, add cooked rice, and stir until mixed.
Measure out about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and add to the pan. Stir this well.
If you wish to add more or less of the soy sauce, it is completely preference-based, and can be changed easily.
Stir until everything is well combined, and let it cook for another minute or so.
After a minute, you're all done! Serve and enjoy! :-)
