Introduction: Quickly Turn Off Your IPhone's Flashlight Without Accessing the Control Center

About: I have been in corporate IT for 9 years now. Never a dull moment.

As you already know, we need open the Control Center and tap the flashlight button to turn on or turn off the iPhone's flashlight. If you are like me who frequently uses iPhone's flashlight, you'll definitely find this nifty trick pretty useful. In this guide, I'm going to explain how to quickly turn off the flashlight using the camera shortcut found on the iPhone's lock screen. It will work on the devices running iOS 10 or later.

Step 1: Wake Up Your IPhone by Pressing the Power Button by Using Raise to Wake Feature

First, you need to wake your iPhone by pressing the power button. You can also use the new 'Raise to Wake' feature available on iPhone SE, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, and 7 Plus running iOS 10 or later. You can turn on Raise to Wake by going to Settings > Display > Brightness. Once activated, you just need to raise your iPhone towards you to turn on the screen.

Step 2: Swipe Left on the Screen

Now just swipe left on the screen, as though you’re going to open the camera, but do not fully swipe over to the left, as this would open the camera app. Easy, right? Remember: this trick won't work if you've disabled the camera on your lock screen.
