Intro: RGB LED STRIP COLOR ORGAN (WITHOUT MICROCONTROLLER)

its a RGB LED STRIP ORGAN and don't used any microcontroller. its based N-channel mosfet.

STEP 2: Circuit Diagram

its a very simple circuit, I found a circuit for total 6 LEDs on the internet. I took is and modified it to drive full 5 meters RGB LED STRIP by using the N channel mosfet, here is the Circuit diagram take a look

STEP 3: Video

Hear it is in the working I have a you tube channel by the name of ELECTRONIC JUGAAD plz check it out.

and if u have any question plz comment below I will answer them as soon as possible.

This looks so cool! I'd love to see this turned into a EL wire suit for raves! That would be awesome!

yes that will be awesome I will try for it soon!

Thanks for publishing this. Everyone seems to think you need an Arduino to make a light blink these days. This proves otherwise!

thanks for writing, plz share this. and share your build with me

didnt had mosfet so i use tip31c and reverse it after rgb led (didnt notice before that rgb led has 1 common + and 3 - for each color

could you explain how to use a tip31 in this circuit in more detail?
thanks

Wow!! This looks awesome!

I totally want to make it. I have one small question though, what do i do to connect leds (say 5 leds for the 3 frequencies) instead of the led strip?

WOW!! Looks so awesome!

Nice work, dada.

I have one question though. What if I want to use led's (say 5 leds for each color), how should I progress??

I believe you introduced an error in your diagram. You have an additional join where the 10uF, 10K Ohm, 1N4148, and 2N3904 components are. The original drawing over at http://makezine.com/projects/easy-led-color-organ/ doesn't have this join.

hi I am trying to replicate your project i have some questions, 1 is the 10K at the base of 2n3904 looks shorted 2, what is the use of the mosfet?

I built mine, just a little adjustment on the circuit above.

Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me how to hook this up to an alternate power source, such as the fuse box/car battery of an automobile?

its simple if u have 12V battery in your car then hook car battery ground to circuit ground and connect positive to circuit's positive and put an on/off switch between it.

i am confuse what is male header sv1 on the top for?

hi,

im working on the same thing only i want that i can still use al the colors of my rgb led strip. So i can ir remote the color and it will jump with it on the music. Until know not mutch succes. Im just useing transistor's, driver and adapter, and a +12V 3A remote then (adapter the same specs) the strip is 4m long, and 4 wire's (afcorse) and if i possibly can then i want to have a switch between so i can turn it off - flashing on sound - normal on

I hope to hear from you!
