Introduction: Radish Greens Lentil Curry

-Radish greens contain more nutrients when compared to radish and by combing green leaves of radish with lentils we can prepare a gluten free,protein rich curry.

-This curry goes well with rice and even roti.

Step 1: Keep All Ingredients Ready

Ingredients

-Bowl of radish leaves

-One cup red lentils

-one diced onion

-2 dry red chillies

-Pinch of turmeric powder

-Half tsp red chilli powder

-salt as per taste

-Tsp tamarind

For tempering:

-Half tsp cumin,mustard seeds

-Half tsp split black gram

-2 garlic cloves

-Few curry leaves

Step 2: Soak Red Lentils in Water

-Before starting the procedure take a cup of red lentils and rinse them under running water.

-Add one and half to 2 cups water to lentils and soak them for half an hour

Step 3: Procedure

-First step is tempering.we are cooking curry in pressure cooker. Take little oil in cooker and when is heated add cumin, mustard seeds. when they splutter add split black gram.

Step 4: Add Dry Red Chillies and Garlic Cloves

-Next add dry red chilllies and garlic cloves and saute for few minutes

Step 5: Add Diced Onions

-Add diced onions and saute for few more minutes

Step 6:

-Rinse the green leaves of radish under running water and chop them.

-After onions are sauted add fresh radish green leaves and mix

Step 7: Add Spices

-Add pinch of turmeric powder, half tsp red chilli powder and salt as per taste

Step 8: Mix Everything

-After adding spices mix all spices with leaves.

Step 9: Add Soaked Lentils

- Finally add initially soaked lentils and water.(.For cup of lentils add one and half to 2 cups of water).

Step 10: Pressure Cook and Add Tamarind Extracted Water

-Close the lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles

-After curry is cooked add tamarind extracted water.(soak tsp tamarind in little water,microwave and extract juice)

-If curry consistency is too thick add little water and adjust the consistency

Step 11: Serve the Curry

-Serve the curry with hot rice or roti.
