I did something very similar about 15 yrs. ago with a regular old desk fan. I painted it completely black except for the blades. I had removed them to paint seperately with black-light paint that I had. I had bright fluorescent Pink, Orange, Yellow,Green, Blue, and Purple. Once the black paint on base dried, I put the unpainted blades back on. Then I painted the base of each blade with the purple. I then did the same thing above the puple with the blue, and so on. Basically painting each blade like a rainbow with the tip of the blade being pink. I let sit for a minute or two and the turned the fan on low, then high. Making the purple blend a bit into the blue, blue into the green and so on. It came out pretty damn cool. It looked good just sitting there and trippy when on. Especially in a dark room with a black light. Awesome. I think I'll make another one.
