Introduction: Random Number Generator
In this project I will show you how to build a circuit that will generate a random number between 0 and 99 by a simple press of a button.
Step 1: The Circuit
The circuit uses two 7 segment displays driven by a decade decoder. The decade decoder is suppled a clock signal from a 555 timer. A tactile button is placed in series of the clock signal so when it is pressed it will supply the decade counter with a signal and it will count the displays up.
Step 2: PCB
I designed a PCB so that all the components can be neatly connected together. The circuit can be powered using 5 volts it can be connected to the PCB via the screw terminal in the top left of the PCB.
Step 3: How to Use
To use the project supply the circuit with 5 volts and then press the button it will then scroll though the numbers. let go of the button and it will select a number.
