Introduction: Recyclable Desk Fan (Failproof)

About: Hi, a student from Malaysia! Does different things such as crafts, cooking and ciruits.

This is an instructable on how to make an extremely simple mini table fan that is reuse from all the beverages cups you probaly going to throw away (most likely Boba Tea cups for me) , and alternative to cool yourself during a hot sunny day. This will help you to recycle & reuse some stuff you have rather than throwing it away. You more than likely you already have all the items laying around that are needed for this project and I have made this to be so simple that anyone could do it.

Using a fan in warm weather can make even a long day at the desk or on the porch almost bearable, even with plenty of beverages on hand. However, you don't always have one available to you.

Fortunately, a fan is a relatively easy machine to make, as it is just a motor attached to a power source with some kind of blade attached to the motor. It also helps to have some kind of stand. You can make a homemade fan out of nearly anything you may already have on hand.

Step 1: What You Need

  • 1 plastic blade propeller
  • Wires
  • Hot glue gun
  • Clean beverages cup ( I'm using Daboba Boba Tea cup)
  • Cardboard
  • Permanent marker
  • Ruler
  • 1 DC motor
  • 1 switch
  • Battery holder and battery
  • Cutter knife

Step 2: Measure the Area of the Motor and Switch and Sketch It on the Middle of the Cup

Remember, this fan I made is put upside down.

Step 3: Cut the Hole You Sketched (To Insert the Dc Motor and Switch)

Step 4: Make a Simple Electric Circuit

Step 5: Insert the Connected Circuit

Insert the dc motor and switch connected to a circuit into the cup and cutted holes

Step 6: Hot Glue the Dc Motor and Switch Inserted in the Cup

This is to prevent the dc motor and switch from falling off and making it stick to the hole cutted.

Step 7: Hot Glue the Cover to the Cup

The cover is cut out depends on the size of your cup. It is preferably to use cardboard or hard paper to make the base.

Step 8: Insert the Plastic Blade Propeller to the Motor

For me, i'm choosing the four blade. Well, different designs of blade doesn't really matter.

Step 9: Decorate Your Table Fan

You can decorate your fan using spray paint but I'm going to use this decorative adhesive tape to decorate my fan. Remember, it is best to reuse stuff than buying it.Its the point of recycling.

Step 10: Test Out and Enjoy Using It!

Now the best part, test your fan if it is working and enjoy using it!
