Introduction: Recycle Trophies

Totally green. We started a recycle your trophies program and it went crazy with donations. First go to the local newspaper and tell them you are starting a recycle your trophies program. I donate a lot of the trophies to the nonprofit groups such as special olympics, red cross, boys and girls club, big brothers and big sisters just to name a few.

Step 1:

After you get your interview at the paper people will bring the trophies in to you. We found that alot of people want to donate their trophies but did not know where to take them. Wives just wanted them gone and husbands hang on to their old glory. All the peices parts used to put these together are scraps from other projects.

Step 2:

We laser cut out the design and laser etched the image from the back of the mirrored acrylic.

Step 3:

Cut a base to fit the acrylic on and mount it to the top of the trophy. You can paint the back of the acrylic also.

Step 4:

Do the same for your bottom emblems. This one is for a car show with the red cross heroes campaign. You can also interchange other emblems from other trophies such as bowlers, basketball, baseball, eagles, and flames to make a unique trophy. We received trophies from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's made from real wood and metal toppers. Heavy trophies from back when you really got a trophy for doing something.

Step 5:

Finally laser etch your wording in where the plate goes and present it to them. Final product is a nice custom made trophy that the organization did not have to pay for thus saving them money.
