Introduction: Recycled Plastic Snow Flakes

This is one of my first instructables hope you enjoy. So I started by collecting my water bottles that just kept flowing into the recycling bin. What I did with them I'll show you right here.

Step 1: Tools and Materials

- Recycled bottles any size
- Exacto knife
- Scissors
- String or Gimp
- Two paint colors of choice. Recommend white and blue

Step 2: Stringing It

Next thing you want to do is punch a small slit with your Exacto knife into the middle of one of the side eges. Next cut a piece of string or Gimp to about a foot and a half for each one you make. Then push the string through the slit and tie a knot once you get it through. Slide the knot to the plastic and now your ready for the next step.

Step 3: Cutting

To start your project take your Exacto knife and poke a hole about an inch from the bottom of the bottle. Then you will cut into the slit with scissors and cut all the way around in a circle.

Step 4: Painting

Now where ready to get out your brushes and newspaper cause things can get messy. Start painting the bottom of the bottle with one paint and then in-between the indents of the plastic you can use your other color. Hang to dry.

Step 5: Final Step

Now your ready to start decorating. So remember to cut up every bottle you have and start making snowflakes. Hang them on the tree, stick them on the wreath put them where ever there's room left!! Have fun making your snow flakes and Always Remember to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Happy Holidays to everyone.
