Introduction: Remineralizing Teeth
How to get cavity free without the drill and dentist
Step 1: Covering Myself
I would like to start out by saying I am not responsible for any injury or ptoblems that may occur from you following this instructable. Do so at your own risk. There is no substitute for brushing and flossing, and this instructable is an addition to these habits. Most people should be fine, but if you are allergic to seafood and coconuts, I advise you not to follow this instructable. This isn't a 100% guarantee, but instead a possible alternative route to dental surgery, but, once again, do so at your own risk. This is my first instructable, so I hope you enjoy it. Thanks
Step 2: Diet
You may know sugar cuases tooth decay. This is because bacteria feed off the sugar and produce chemicals that corrode the teeth. But this isn't the main reason for tooth decay. Diet can also play a major factor. The teeth are like every other part of the body-say, if you cut your finger, eventually, it will heal. Teeth are the same. As long as the cavity isn't all the way to the root, it is repairable. Many dentists arnt even away of the fact your tooth can remineralize, so they instantly go for the surgery. That is how they make money, of course. But dieting can help slow down, repair and heal cavities. Your diet should include a lot of seafood such as salmon and other fish, oysters, ect as well as vegetables. Try to stay away from any sugar, and minimalize your fruit intake as fruit contains lots of sugar. This may seem gross, but the organs of animals are the most nutritious and mineral rich- try to eat some as often as possible. There are recipies so good you won't even know that your eating a sheeps intestine. Eat lots of livers. The liver is one of the most mineral rich meat sources, and will help supply you with the minerals to build your teeth back up. Don't consume sugary beverages such as sodas, juices, ect. Drink a lot of water and whole milk. Don't consume a lot of grains and breads either-try to limit your intake.
Step 3: Hygene
You know the baisics; brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes, floss, ect. But lets add a new habit to your daily routine. Oil pulling. Its a new fad brought over from India, where it has been practiced for thousands of years. Basically, you put oil in your mouth (olive, coconut, ect) and swish it around for twenty minutes. This allows the oil to bond with plaque, pus, and all the other nasty things that might be in your mouth. It works well too- not only does it clean very well, it also whitens your teeth naturally! The best oil to use is organic coconut oil. Put about two teaspoons in your mouth, let it melt, then swish it in and out of your teeth for twenty minutes. It doesn't taste too great, but the payoff is well worth it. If you don't have coconut oil, feel free to use any other high quality plant based oil, but coconut works the best. This will help remineralize your teeth. Do in the morning before brushing.
Step 4: Cod Liver Oil
Find a high quality cod liver oil supplement and take daily. This will help nourish your teeth. Cod liver oil has an abundance of vitamins and minerals, it is in fact a superfood. This will greatly aid in the recovery of your teeth.
